Anand Krishnasamy

Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Dr Anand Krishnasamy is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. He has been working at the institute since 2013. From 2010–2013, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the Engine Research Centre, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, involved in research projects on low-temperature combustion engines with Ford Motors and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2010 at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He has over 15 years of teaching and 20 years of research experience in fuel and engine technologies. His research interests include developing high-efficiency clean-combustion modes for diesel engines, alternative fuels and automotive fuel surrogate modeling. His research group has developed several patented engine and fuel technologies, including a combustion mode and fuel-flexible low-temperature combustion engine. Their work on advancing engine and fuel technologies has been granted nine patents and published in over 150 reputed International journals and conference proceedings.
