Coordinator, M Tech User Oriented Programme on Automotive Technology (2006 – 2017) – offered to practicing engineers from various Automotive Industries in India and the course is designed based on the inputs from TVS Motor Co. Hosur and other auto industries. Each batch was run with at least 15 students.
Established “Centre of Excellence on Machine Tools and Production Technology” in collaboration with Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and several machine tool industries: Ace Designers Ltd., Chennai Metco P Ltd., Interface Design Associates, Jyoti CNC Ltd., MTAB machine tools P Ltd., Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd. DHI has sanctioned the project in January 2016 with a sanctioned budget of Rs. 56.125 crores (80% contribution by DHI and 20% contribution by Participating industries). This centre is set up as a not-for-profit Society in August 2016 as “Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Centre” in IIT Madras Research Park and was inaugurated by the Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, Govt. of India in August 2019.
Got sponsored “Ace Micromatic Chair” at IIT Madras by Ace Micromatic Group, Bangalore in 2018. This group is engaged in the design and development of CNC machine tools and is interested to encourage the expert faculty from India and abroad in the field of Mechatronics and Mechatronic based design of machine tools.
