Dr. Nagabhushana Rao Vadlamani pursued his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Whittle Laboratory at the University of Cambridge in 2014. Subsequently, he was awarded the Bowring research fellowship by St. Catharine's College, Cambridge to pursue independent research. He continued working as a Senior Research Associate in the Cambridge University Engineering Department on Rolls-Royce and TSB-funded projects. Prior to his Ph.D., Rao worked with the Digital Mockup team at Airbus India on the safe installation of various aircraft systems. He pursued his master's degree in Thermal engineering from IIT Madras and his Bachelor’s degree from NIT Warangal in Mechanical Engineering.
Rao's research involves developing reliable numerical tools to build efficient components for modern aircraft engines. In 2013, he and his colleagues were the recipients of the ASME IGTI Turbomachinery Committee Best Paper Award for their work on transition in low-pressure turbines.
