It is the only species of Delias. It is widely distributed in our country with unmistakable bright colors on the underside of the wings unlike other butterflies to warn the predators. It is seen drinking at moist places on roads and in river beds during hot weather. It visits flowers of Lantana, Chestnut, Mango, Mustard, Land-Caltrops, etc
