About Us

Workshop on the “Development of Lithium based Ceramics for Tritium Breeding” is being organised at IIT Madras in collaboration with IPR. The objective of the conference is to share the knowledge of research and development work on breeder materials. The workshop aims to provide a forum for presentations and discussions by eminent speakers, scientists and research scholars in this area.

Scope

The workshop is to provide a forum for scientists, academia and engineers to share and exchange their latest ideas and original works in order to promote continued research and development on lithium based ceramic breeder materials for use in Test Blanket Module (TBM) for tritium extraction. The presentations include production and developments of lithium ceramic materials, mechanical and thermal characterisation, modelling and trends of future developments etc. The workshop aims to build a strong network of scientists and academia in this field to serve the nation’s contribution towards Fusion program.

The workshop will include technical sessions constituting of invited lectures and contributing papers on

  • Progress in ceramic breeder material development and production
  • Characterisation of breeder materials
  • Pebble beds experiments and modelling
  • Topical discussions
