(Calculus I course for B.Tech. I)

This was the first mathematics course for B.Tech. Ist year students, fresh in IIT. The aim was to teach multivariable calculus, though many topics were restricted to a study in only 2 variables. The topics included limits, continuity, differentiability, directional derivatives, vector fields, (local) extrema, Lagrange multipliers, double and triple integrals, line integrals, divergence, curl, conservative vector fields, Green's theorem, Stokes' theorem, Gauss' theorem, etc.

Notes prepared by Prof. Arindama Singh were the main teaching reference. Some instructors also used the textbook Calculus and Analytic Geometry by Thomas and Finney. The course was taught by 10 instructors and my class consisted of 83 students, all specializing in mechanical engineering.
