Welcome to this web page

In our lab we work on the Thermo and fluid dynamic processes in droplet and spray processes. Droplet processes include droplet impact, droplet evaporation etc. Here we try to understand the physics of these processes using latest experimental and computational techniques. We also work on application areas like sprays used in different combustion engines, spray and atomization of metal melts for producing powders for different applications and paint sprays as used in automotive industries. About me

I am a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Madras. I received my PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2004. I then worked as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at IISc and T U Darmstadt (Germany). Before my PhD, I worked for TELCO (presently Tata Motors Co.) for two years after finishing my Batchelors in Mech. Engg. (BE) from REC Durgapur (presently NIT Durgapur). After my PhD I worked in General Electric Co. (GE), Bangalore for 8 months. My research interest is to understand thermo-fluid dynamic processes in droplets and sprays.
