Current Work:
Plasmonic properties of the gold nanostructures (AuNP) could be efficiently monitored when chemisorbed on a functionalized optical fiber compared to flat substrates. My work is mainly to study the influence of plasma treatment in obtaining dense functional groups on PMMA optical fiber surface for chemisorption of AuNP. The hence modified probes are further utilised for the detection of biomolecules through LSPR or fiber optic SERS techniques. SERS detection through optical fiber has advantages of simultaneous excitation of analyte molecules over a large area, and also light confinement through the fiber for excitation.
