The current challenges faced by chemists are the development of highly selective, energy efficient and environmentally benign new synthetic strategies for the clean and selective production of pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, bulk chemicals, and renewable fuels. Catalysis is one of the available key technologies, which can be used to address the mentioned challenges. Thus, we mainly focus on the principle investigation of organometallic and organo-catalysis for the development of new synthetic strategies which are vital for the synthesis of building blocks and complex molecules of biological importance and production of valuable chemicals from renewable resources, such as lignocellulosic biomass and carbon dioxide.
