Leadership and Innovation in technology development activity
Laser Dressing Process was invented at IIT Madras as a part of my doctoral work during 1985-89. The same invention was translated into a laser dressing attachment on Cylindrical grinding machine at Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bengaluru as a part of Technology Transfer project on Development of laser dressing system for super abrasive grinding wheel dressing taken up during 2012 -2013.
Ice bonded abrasive polishing (I.B.A.P.) system for ultrafine polishing of materials was invented as a part of doctoral work supervised by me during 2007 – 2011. The third version of the system is developed for in-situ preparation of ice bonded abrasive tool with refrigeration unit and automatic temperature control units.
