Associate Professor · Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering
Ilaksh Adlakha completed his BTech in Mechanical Engineering at Pune University in 2008, worked at Moser Baer India Ltd. until 2010, and took his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University in 2015. After a postdoctoral appointment he joined IIT Madras in 2017, and has been Associate Professor since 2024. He works on plasticity, environmentally assisted degradation, multiscale mechanics and data-driven methods, building theory, simulation and experiment together to explain how structural materials deform and fail across length scales.
