"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught." - Oscar Wilde
I believe in re-inventing the wheel in the classroom. Any great technology was invented since there was a basic need. Re-creating that need in the class-room leads naturally to understanding the need for that technology and how it was established. This re-creation can be done at varied levels.
I also believe that learning when students spend time and experience the material. Experience means not just sitting and listening in the class but actually doing something with the material. So active assignments and projects are a better way to learn with exams complementing such active assessments.
