The male is glistening black with yellowish green bill and crimson eyes .The female is brown, profusely spotted and barred with white. They can be seen singly or in pairs in groves of trees etc. They are Brood-parasitic and are arboreal. They frequently visit gardens, groves and open country abounding in large leafy trees. They are silent in winter and become increasingly noisy with the advanced of the hot weather. They feed largely on fruits and berries, also on caterpillars and insects. Their flight is straight and swift with rapid wing beats. Their nesting season is from April to August. Their eggs are smaller but similar to the crows. It is pale greyish green or stony coloured, speckled and blotched with reddish brown.
