It is butterfly of low elevations and inhabiting both the open plains and scrub jungles at the foot hills. It is seen most commonly in the mixed deciduous forests and ill-kept agricultural lands. It is a Sun-loving butterfly flying close to the ground with rapid flight. It is fond of mud puddling and a strong migrant.
