It is commonly found in the wooded regions of South India and in the Himalayas from Kashmir further eastwards. Usually among the swallowtails, it comes readily to natural baits like rotting insects. It is a very nervous butterfly and is very hard to catch. It visits he flowers of Lantana etc.It generally feeds on Cinnamon, camphor, Machilus, Avocado, etc
