It has a bluish white upperside. The forewing is crossed by 5 broad black bands and broader outerband traversed by a sub-marginal row of white spots. Hindwing has 2 black elongated sub-basal bands and a broader outer band traversed by 6 white lunar spots. The tail is long and black. The underside has white markings as above, but bronze-brown. This is a butterfly of forested areas, found mostly among bushes with lesser secondary growth. It visits damp patches during summer.
