Interaction of genetic variants activates latent metabolic pathways in yeast
We explore how genetic polymorphisms interact to impact complex outcomes. Using a multi-omics approach, we found that the two yeast variants collaboratively activate a latent metabolic pathway, which is not activated by either variant alone. This research sheds light on the genetic underpinnings of complex metabolic diseases like cancer, paving the way for personalized medicine through new biomarkers and drug targets.
