Mendel loved animals and kept mice and birds at the monastery. At one point he also had a tame fox and a hedgehog. Mendel's students were often invited to tour his zoo.
Mendel's results were not widely accepted in 1865. What if everyone did understand and accept Mendel's results in 1865? Would we be further along in the science of genetics?
